Open Fellowship: Green Chemistry Strategies for Plastic Biodegradation

The group has an open FAPESP Technical Training Fellowship (Nível TT-V) position under the supervision of Prof. Munir Skaf.

The project, “Development of Advanced Green Chemistry Strategies Applied to Biodegradation and Valorization of Fossil-Based Polymers” (FAPESP process 25/15191-3), investigates enzyme–substrate catalytic reactions using QM/MM and DFT simulations, computational enzyme engineering guided by AI to optimize plastic-degrading enzymes, and molecular dynamics/QM/MM screening of predicted mutants ahead of biological validation.

Requirements: PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Computation, Bioinformatics, or a related field, with proven experience in molecular dynamics simulations.

Start date: October 2026 · Positions: 1 · Application deadline: September 16, 2026
